Ailsa
Gender: Female
Age: 5 - 6 years
Neutered: Yes
Ailsa is a sweetheart, she is used to other dogs and has lived with them but incidents in her past have made her nervous of them. She goes happily out into the paddocks with other dogs in our care but she knows we would not subject her to any aggressive or unknown dogs.
Because of her past she is very sensitive and although she needs lots of reassurance she also needs to be allowed to come round in her own time, she is good on a lead and travels well.
Ailsa needs a very calm home with no resident children, she loves going for walks and will respond well to someone with plenty of patience and understanding.
All our dogs are vaccinated microchipped and, whenever possible neutered (this can be dependant on the age of the dogs e.g. very old or very young) There is a minimum fee of 200.00 to help cover the cost of taking in more dogs in need of help.
Adopted
Freedom of Spirit Trust for Border Collies rescue (FOSTBC)
All our dogs go into their Life Guardians homes on a training programme, we give each adopted dog its lifetime of back up and we try our best to match the right dog to potential adopters. As each dog and potential home are different we don't have a rigid set of rules but we do need to know that there is a suitably fenced garden/exercise area and we don't let our dogs go into homes where they are going to be left alone for several hours at a time on a regular basis.
Some of our dogs do have issues and some are ready for rehoming within a matter of weeks of being in our care so we do need to know from potential adopters if they are prepared for or are experienced with any behavioural issues.
