Abbie is a wonderful little dog who has everyone at the kennels cooing over her. You cannot help but fall in love with her when you meet her and she has a totally irresistibly cute overbite. Sadly her owner fell ill and could not care for her anymore. So here she is, hoping again to find her forever home.
Abbie is absolutely devoted to the people she loves, but can be choosy with new people and other dogs and she needs an experienced home who will be ok to let her meet new people at her own pace. Abbie is not a social butterfly who can just go up to any strangers and love the fuss, her interactions with strangers and other dogs will need to be monitored. She needs someone who can read her and manage her in new situations. She is a sensitive little girl who needs real stability as she can find change difficult to deal with. She will likely never be the perfect dog, but she will always have a heart of gold and whoever decides to give her a chance and love her just as she is, for her wonderful smile and her endearing nature, will be truly blessed. When she finds her home, we know that she will bring a huge amount of happiness and be a very rewarding dog to have.
She is training with the team and has been improving a great deal, continuing with her socialisation and her basic training is essential for her. She would probably prefer to have her family’s attention all to herself, she would do well as a single dog. Abbie is a fox terrier and her temperament and character traits are very much typical of her breed. A family with terrier experience would therefore be great, or a family prepared to learn about the fox terrier breed and work with her natural traits. Abbie has a heart murmur and is medicated for it. The team would be able to discuss the costs involved with any interested family.
