Sheffield Council Kennels is a safe place for dogs found roaming the streets of Sheffield. For the dogs that are not reunited with their owner after a period of 10 days, they will be put up for adoption and advertised on this website. We try our best to match potential adopters to the right dog and find them loving new forever homes. Please be aware that the majority of the dogs at the council kennels (with the exception of some owner surrendered dogs) come with no background history. They have had a very basic assessment by the kennel staff within their 10 days. Therefore we do not know anything of the dogs past, what kind of home they have come from and what they have experienced in the past. Dogs MUST be supervised around children, visitors and other pets at ALL TIMES and never left unattended.
For dogs there is a non-refundable £100 adoption fee (card payment only at present) which includes microchipping (for dogs not already microchipped). For full information or to book an appointment to see the animals available, please call the kennels direct on 01142726758 or 07817 497995, phone 7days 8am - 8pm (closed between 1.30pm and 2pm for lunch) - viewing is by appointment only - please remember to quote the dogs reference number when calling.
ALL DOGS ADOPTED FROM SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL MUST BE NEUTERED/SPAYED - This will be an additional cost to the adopter if a dogs trust voucher is not available to cover part of the cost.
A Dogs Trust voucher that will help towards the cost of neutering MAY be offered. This will allow the owner to get their new dog neutered for a reduced fee of £50. Limited availability and specific breed criteria may apply. Please ask the staff at the kennels for more information.
