Roger is a beautiful young boy who we believe is a German Shepherd x Lurcher, estimated to be around 10 months old.

He came into us as a stray, and sadly no owner came forward for him. He is now looking for a very patient, understanding home that can give him the time and security he needs.

When Roger first arrived, he was absolutely terrified of everyone and everything. Once he began to trust us, we started to see the lovely boy underneath. He enjoys his food and treats, loves to play and has even shown off some very impressive zoomies.

Roger arrived very underweight and has been having regular feeds to help him gain condition.

He is still extremely fearful of strangers and may need several meet and greets before he feels comfortable. He probably won’t show himself at his best straight away, but underneath that fear is a big, misunderstood puppy with so much love to give.

Roger will need to settle into a quiet, calm and stress free home where he can properly decompress. He must be given the space to build trust in his own time, without pressure or too much going on around him. A home without lots of unexpected visitors would suit him best.

He will also need regular exercise and plenty of enrichment to keep him physically and mentally stimulated, with new experiences introduced slowly and positively.

Roger needs:

No other dogs
No children
A super secure garden
A calm, quiet household
Someone experienced and patient with fearful dogs
Someone willing to complete multiple meet and greets if needed
Plenty of exercise, enrichment and continued confidence building

Roger may not be the easiest dog to rehome, but for the right person who is willing to earn his trust, he has the potential to become an incredibly loving, loyal companion.

For dogs there is a non-refundable adoption fee (card payment only at present) which includes microchipping (for dogs not already microchipped). PLEASE CALL THE NUMBERS TO SPEAK TO A MEMBER OF STAFF IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ONE OF THE DOGS - emails/messages to this site unable to be responded to.

ALL DOGS ADOPTED FROM SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL MUST BE NEUTERED/SPAYED - This will be an additional cost to the adopter.
