JOEY
Gender: Male
Age: 5 - 6 years
Neutered: Yes
Here is Joey, as you can see he is a gorgeous black ex-racing greyhound of nearly 6 years old. He is very friendly with people but, being an ex-racer, he would be best suited to a pet-free home. He walks well on his lead. but needs to be walked with a muzzle on as he can be dog reactive. Our dog walkers have been working hard with Joey on this and he is improving. He also doesn’t like being left on his own for long periods. In every other respect, he is a beautiful, easy dog who travels well in a car and takes food and treats gently. He would walk all day, but is equally happy to lay in his bed or even better in the sun!
Adoption Process
Step 1: If you see a dog you like then please make an appointment to meet them by following the link on our Web site : www.roystonanimalwelfare.org/rescue
Step 2: Once you have met and decided to adopt a dog a home check will be arranged.
Step 3: Once your home check has passed, the adoption is completed, and you can pick up your new family member!
Our adoption fee is £200 for dogs. They are Vaccinated, Microchipped, Neutered, Flea, and Wormed and also come with 4 weeks of free insurance
If any of the above are not complete upon adoption vouchers covering their full cost will be issued. The adoption fee covers some of these vet costs - the rest is covered by fundraising.
A part of your garden must be enclosed and secure. A minimum 4ft fence/wall is required, depending on the size and nature of the dog this may be higher. Dogs can not be left on their own for more than 5 hours on a regular basis. Dogs must not be left to sleep outside at night or during the winter. If we know a dog is friendly with cats this will be specified. If this is not specified, the dog will not be re-homed with cats.
