MEET DOLLY
Dolly is a gorgeous young fox red Labrador, aged to be around 1–2 years old, who came into kennels as a stray and sadly was never reclaimed.
She is an incredibly sweet, happy and affectionate girl with a huge personality. Dolly is bouncy, excitable and full of energy, and she absolutely loves food, treats, toys and attention.
It’s clear that Dolly has had very little training, so she will need someone who is genuinely prepared to put the time and effort into helping her learn. She needs training in all aspects, including housetraining, lead walking, manners and general boundaries. She can be strong and does pull on the lead, so her new owner will need to be confident and comfortable responsibly handling a strong dog.
Dolly is extremely food and treat motivated, which should really help with her training. She would benefit from a kind, patient and positive approach, with someone who understands that although she can appear very bold and excitable, she can also become startled by things in the outside world. She needs someone willing to gently build her confidence and introduce her to new experiences at her own pace.
She would suit an active home where she can enjoy plenty of exercise, enrichment, training and interaction. Dolly is not a dog who would be happy being left alone for long periods of time; she needs a home where someone can offer her plenty of company and involvement in everyday life.
We have seen no concerning reactions towards other dogs, so she could potentially live with a neutered resident dog, providing introductions and meet-and-greets go well.
•Cats: Unknown
•Children: No young children, but sensible teenagers could be considered
•Dogs: Potentially, subject to successful introductions
•Home: Active, patient and committed •Training: Dolly will need someone willing to start from the beginning and continue her training positively and consistently
Dolly really is a lovely girl who just needs someone willing to see past the excitable puppy-like behaviour and give her the structure, patience and guidance she has clearly missed out on so far.
With the right person prepared to invest in her, Dolly has so much potential to become an absolutely fantastic companion.
If you feel you can offer Dolly the loving, active and patient home she needs, please get in touch.
