Meet Marvel, a gorgeous 3 year old British Bulldog who came into our care alongside his mum, Lady, through absolutely no fault of his own.

Marvel is a happy, affectionate and larger-than-life little character who is full of enthusiasm for just about everything! He loves people, food, treats and toys. He really is a lovely boy with lots of personality.

Sadly, Marvel hasn’t had the best start in life, Marvel has spent long periods of his life in a back garden, so the outside world will be very new to him. He’ll need patient, positive introductions to help build his confidence. Although he is confident and excitable he will need a home willing to give him the security, patience and consistency he deserves. He can become easily overstimulated, and will jump excessively when excited, so his new family will need to be prepared to work positively and consistently, on his general manners

Marvel has previously lived in a home and is reported to be housetrained. He has lived around people, children and other dogs and has shown himself to be friendly and affectionate. He could potentially live with another suitable neutered resident dog, providing introductions and meet-and-greets at the kennels go well.

As Marvel can be lively and excitable, we feel older, dog savvy children would be most suitable. No cats.

Like his mum Lady, Marvel’s breathing is not the best, and he is likely to require BOAS surgery in the future to help improve his breathing and quality of life.

Any future BOAS assessment, surgery and associated veterinary costs will be the responsibility of his adopter, so anyone considering Marvel must take this potential expense into account before applying.

Marvel is looking for someone who understands the needs of the breed and won’t be put off by a bit of training. In return, you’ll get an incredibly affectionate, funny and enthusiastic boy who has so much love to give.

Breed knowledge/experience would be beneficial
Older, dog savvy children
Potentially another neutered dog following successful introductions
No cats
An adopter financially prepared for his likely future BOAS treatment

For dogs there is a non-refundable adoption fee (card payment only at present) which includes microchipping (for dogs not already microchipped). PLEASE CALL THE NUMBERS TO SPEAK TO A MEMBER OF STAFF IF INTERESTED IN ADOPTING ONE OF THE DOGS - emails/messages to this site unable to be responded to.

ALL DOGS ADOPTED FROM SHEFFIELD CITY COUNCIL MUST BE NEUTERED/SPAYED - This will be an additional cost to the adopter.
