13122 “Zika” Akita Female
Gender: Female
Age: 1 - 2 years
Neutered: As part of adoption process
Zika has been handed over to kennels due to no fault of her own. She is about 2 and a half years old and grey sable in colour. Zika is wary and fearful of strangers, particularly men. Potential adopters may need to visit kennels a few times to meet zika before she is comfortable enough to go home. Once zika has got to know you, she will quite literally be your best bud. She is very playful and affectionate and not standoffish at all like a lot of Akita’s. Zika tries to stay clean in her kennel but after being in kennels for over 5 months; she may need a gentle reminder when it comes to house training. Zika walks fairly nicely on the lead. Zika could potentially live with older dog savvy children. We haven’t seen any issues in kennels around other dogs but her previous home told us she was reactive on the lead. We have noticed she is more comfortable with smaller dogs at the moment. Zika will need a calm, patient home that can give her the time & care she needs to build her confidence.
For dogs there is a non-refundable £100 adoption fee (card payment only at present) which includes microchipping (for dogs not already microchipped).
