13253 Male Yellow Labrador
Gender: Male
Age: 1 - 2 years
Neutered: As part of adoption process
This lovely boy was brought in to kennels after being found roaming as a stray. He is a very large, chunky show type lab. According to his chip, he is just under 2. Born Feb 2021. He has a very timid, nervous nature and on arrival was very fearful and growling at staff. He has come on leaps and bounds now and is playful and enjoys belly rubs from all staff! Although he is still very nervous of the lead and having it put on. He is wary of strangers so potential adopters may need to visit the kennels a few times to befriend him before he is comfortable to go to a new home. He is unsure of loud noises and sudden movements. Due to his nervous nature he cannot be rehomed with young children. He will need a quiet and patient home, where he can build his confidence up. He needs all aspects of training, including house training. He has had several views and introductions to other dogs but unfortunately he is too full on (very excitable, giddy, friendly but this turns to frustration as he wants to “hump”) to safely rehome to a home with an existing dog. The staff feel that with the correct training and careful socialising he could potentially live with another dog in the distant future but for now he is to be rehomed as an only dog.
